A visit to the Holy Land is always a life-changing experience in itself which the Visitor center enhances by broadening the pilgrims’ knowledge of everything that they see and hear during their stay.
In accordance with the Israeli Ministry of Health’s instructions, due to the COVID-19 crisis, and to keep our visitors and staff as safe as possible, Saxum Visitor Center will be closed until further notice.

- We ask that you book your visit at least 1 week in advance.
- Tours begin at 9:00 am, 11:00 am, 1:00 pm, and 3:00 pm.
- Each tour lasts about 1.5 hours.

The Visitor Center includes the following services:
It offers a historical, geographical and biblical explanation of the main events of Salvation History. The center features multimedia resources such as maps and models, descriptions of the Holy Sites in different time periods as well as touch-screens and 4D projections about the Holy Land’s heritage.
The Visitor Center will help pilgrims better understand key events from Abraham to Jesus in order to invite them to live a deeper experience of faith.
Saxum has a chapel where Mass can be celebrated and where confessionals are also at the visitors’ disposal. The chapel has a capacity for 80.
If you would like to take a break after your visit to Saxum, the cafeteria offers snacks, drinks and baked goods. There is also a catering service with a full meal that can be hired for a maximum of 30 people.
The multi-purpose room holds 80 people and is designed for lectures, gatherings or events that promote intercultural dialogue and peace.
Emmaus Trail Information Point
Those who want to relive Jesus Christ’s encounter with the disciples on the road to Emmaus will find a starting point in Saxum with historical, geographical, and Biblical information.
