Holy Land Dialogues 2018: The Trip of a Lifetime

From February 4th to February 11th, the Holy Land welcomed 200 people from 20 different countries -such as China, Brazil, Ecuador, Singapour, Belgium, Honduras…- to participate in the second Holy Land Dialogues. HLD is an event that combines a pilgrimage with academic lectures that foster intercultural and inter-religious dialogue. These lectures are organized by the Social Trends Institute in collaboration with Saxum. STI is a non-profit investigation center that offers institutional support to academics who seek to make sense of emerging social trends and their effects on human communities.

The participants of the event were divided into six groups of Spanish, English, or French speakers that came from all over the world. During the week, they enjoyed guided visits to all of the Holy Sites and even a boat ride in Galilee where they learned local dances and songs.

Also, the participants were able to experience HLD alongside the new members of the board of Saxum Foundation, giving them the chance to share their ideas and proposals on how to help Saxum grow.

This year, Saxum welcomed distinguished speakers Melanie Phillips and R.R. Reno.

The second Holy Land Dialogues was again a great success where people left filled with joy, not only because of all they had seen and experienced, but also thanks to the new friendships that had been formed during those days.
